Chinese State Media Amplifies Cuomo’s Covid-19 Attack on Trump

The Communist Party of China’s (CCP) most hawkish state media organ, The Global Times, seems impressed with New York governor Andrew Cuomo’s coronavirus messaging.

On July 6, the propaganda outlet tweeted a video in which the governor asks President Trump to not be a Covid-19 “co-conspirator” and states that if Trump fails to “acknowledge” the existence of the virus, then he is a pandemic “enabler.” The CCP pounced at the opportunity to subtly shift blame to the United States for the global crisis.

According to a recent expose from investigative journalist Adam Kredo, “China did not report the existence of the coronavirus in late 2019, according to a WHO timeline tracking the spread of the virus. Rather, international health officials discovered the virus through information posted to a U.S. website.” This troubling assessment was just the latest revelation into the Communist government’s pandemic culpability.

The Xi regime masterminded a failed cover-up that was lethal. Critical voices who tried to warn the world about an unknown illness terrorizing the city of Wuhan were crushed, like heroic doctor Li Wenliang, the coronavirus whistleblower. Wenliang had his reputation smeared by Xi’s agents before fatally falling victim to the virus’s wrath. In December, Chinese doctors identified the mysterious strain. They were ordered to “stop tests, destroy samples and suppress the news.”

Xi was privately issuing orders to battle the outbreak in early January – if not prior. On January 14, Chinese officials held a secret teleconference and personally received “important instructions” from Xi. After that call, there were six additional days of key silence that “set the stage” for global catastrophe before the dictator warned the public on January 20.

Dr. Deborah Birx, a leading official on the White House’s coronavirus task force, has made it clear that the US was slow to respond because the Chinese government withheld a “significant amount of data.” An academic study suggested that if the CCP had acted weeks earlier, then cases could have been reduced by 95 percent. Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the former FDA commissioner, suggested that if the regime had been truthful “they might have actually been able to contain this entirely.” Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, says that the Xi regime’s reporting about minimal human contagion was “misinformation right from the beginning.”

The amplification of Cuomo’s broadside was convenient for the American politician who has publicly blamed Europe for the spread of the virus in America, a message that no doubt resonates with powerbrokers in Beijing. The foreign social broadcasting came on a day where the state executive was under severe scrutiny for his decision to release 6,300 coronavirus patients into nursing homes. The Buffalo News summarized the Cuomo administration’s response with the headline: “Cuomo agency report: Cuomo policy not to blame for nursing home deaths.

As for Cuomo’s insistence that the president wear a mask, it remains to be seen if Trump will comply. The commander in chief has long resisted sporting a mask in public, but has shifted his public tone in recent days saying that he is “all for masks” while noting he looked like the “Lone Ranger” while donning one in private.

America has a long way to go before defeating Covid-19, but commentator Brent Scher suggested to his online followers that the CCP will continue leveraging more American political rhetoric when it’s convenient to their global propaganda campaign.
